“3” is a show consisting of ten black, white and grey acrylic paintings, painted on glass. Appropriately titled, for it is the third body of work I have produced in 2006. The ash frames were milled not only to hold the glass painting but to house the charcoal drawing that lies behind the surface. The clear circles are intended to bring a three dimensional effect to the otherwise two dimensional painting. In creating this effect, however, I unintentionally created paintings that give an overwhelming desire to be literally looked into.
